jpalmermercutio: which nvme did you get, and how do you like it?
we bought a handful of the 1.2tb intel p3600 series.. really happy/impressed with them. except on our promxmox hosts. even with PCI passthrough, they are like 25% as fast. 750MB/s
luckily, they are dedicated to an individual VM, so pci passthrough is an option, it was even slower using openvz.

up_the_ironsjpalmer: so what impresses you about them if they don't work well in a VM environment? [14:44]
mercutiojpalmer: i've got two. sm951, and 950 pro
much more impressed the 128gb sm951 than 256gb 950 pro
i can't get windows to go fast with it atm. and linux doesn't need it :)
with liunx if you want to max out nvme ssd's you really need hgih readahead
although the samsung nvme ssd's don't even have power loss protection so do slow random write speeds

mercutioi suspect someone else in here uses chrome on linux. has anyone else found cutting and pasting from url bar doesn't work properly sometimes recently?
ie you'll get the last thing you cut rather the new thing you cut
