mercutio | maybe openvpn stole your default route?
you could add a specific route to your ip if you're playing with things and you think it might disrupt normal connectivity | [12:44] |

up_the_irons | (and now i have a new T61 battery too, so i'm back in action with the ThinkPad)
powering 10.1" netbook with 7700mAh battery is NIIIIIIIIICE ;) this thing is gonna last like 10 hours | [17:25] |
staticsafe | i wouldn't mind one of those new ultrabooks | [17:27] |
m0unds | the little notebook i take to work with me w/network utils and stuff on it has one of those 9-cell batteries (it's similar to an msi wind - gateway lt3103u)

brycec | When I used to do field work, I would bring my Chromebook everywhere. Battery lasts forever (2 years and I still get ~6hrs), built-in free 3G, thin and lightweight. Only drawback was a lack of built-in Ethernet. (And at the time, ChromeOS VPN support was shoddy)

brycec | I don't believe it's offered on any current model.
Sadly my 2yrs of free service is up. It's still nice to know that, given a desperate or dire situation, I can switch it on, pay Verizon $10 and have a day's access. Or I can just tether through my phone's unlimited LTE | [23:43] |
