yah reckon? i found high dpi seemed to work fine in linux but i mostly just use chrome and terminals :) acf_: oh yeah? I have a friend that recommended the WQHD screen, and he's a Linux guy. He would have figured out a way to get it working good He also has an X1 acf_: what do you think about the nvme drive? up_the_irons: tbh I don't do anything that requires super high disk performance so it's just another SSD to me I've always put sata SSDs in my older thinkpads, and it feels the same that's interesting you all have had different experiences with linux hidpi support GTK+ apps mostly seem to work chromium works fine for Qt apps, usually half of the app will scale properly and half won't so you'll get text that's too big for the box it's in and so it gets cut off and tiny icons right next to giant text some gtk apps are the same, but not as many of course pure X11 apps (ie, xv, xcalc, etc...) don't scale at all qtcreator was basically unusable with scaling ah i don't actually use any qt apps i was using 4k monitor and 1440p monitor next to eah other on two pc and shifting dpi made everything look similar size the 4k being 28" and 1440p 27" so pretty close in size
