OpenLDAP was suggested to me by someone irl
one person suggested Samba for the Network /home share, another suggested either NFS or CIFS
CIFS is samba
they distributed file system offerings are a bit subpar from what i understand
so the file store ends up being a single point of failure
like ceph has a distributed file system but it's still pretty bulky to install for a small setup, and the file system part of it is less mature
nfs is fine as long as your file share doesn't disappear
Is it recommended to run NFS on UDP, its native protocol or force it to use TCP?
