antup_the_irons: I seemed to remember that you already accepted Bitcoin years ago, and [FBI] agrees: http://irclogger.arpnetworks.com/irclogger_log/arpnetworks?date=2013-12-03,Tue&sel=71#l67
I wonder how much the amount of Bitcoin that toddf spent back than would be worth today ;-)

mnathanibrycec: just saw your responses with regards to NIS. Thank you
for the OS, I was thinking basic CentOS and Ubuntu
[20:15]
mercutioyou could also look at something like ansible or puppet for a small setup mnathani
i know you like to play
but yeah ldap support is around and not too hard to do
[20:19]
mnathaniOpenLDAP was suggested to me by someone irl
one person suggested Samba for the Network /home share, another suggested either NFS or CIFS
[20:20]
............ (idle for 56mn)
mercutioCIFS is samba
they distributed file system offerings are a bit subpar from what i understand
so the file store ends up being a single point of failure
like ceph has a distributed file system but it's still pretty bulky to install for a small setup, and the file system part of it is less mature
nfs is fine as long as your file share doesn't disappear
[21:17]
mnathaniIs it recommended to run NFS on UDP, its native protocol or force it to use TCP? [21:25]
...... (idle for 28mn)
mercutioeither or [21:53]
