Looking at volumes of under 2000 messages/day [01:55] has quit [Remote host closed the connection] [01:56] oookay [01:56] nathani: I have a customer that has been using smtp2go for over a year with little fanfare [01:56] Amazon SES is $0.10 per 1000 e-mails [01:57] can't beat that. dang. [02:09] hmm i've heard of smtp2go [02:11] Thanks [02:21] mailgun is free for up to 10k e-mails/month [06:30] *** johnny-o has joined #arpnetworks [06:30] *** johnny-o has quit IRC (Changing host) [06:30] *** johnny-o has joined #arpnetworks [07:27] *** gizmoguy_ has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 256 seconds) [07:53] *** gizmoguy has joined #arpnetworks [08:21] *** Guest29196 has quit IRC (Quit: R.I.P) [08:21] *** Rhvs has joined #arpnetworks [09:17] That was a fun error. One of ARP's resolvers just now was really insistent that github.com didn't exist. (Couldn't tell you which one, only that trying to fetch these Go vendors resulted in a whole bunch of "unable to resolve github.com" errors) [09:19] "unable to resolve" sounds more like failed resolution than "doesn't exist"? [09:20] If you want to be technical, yes. [09:21] (I realize they are separte, distinct return codes) [09:21] "ssh: Could not resolve hostname github.com: No address associated with hostname" [09:22] Anyhow, thought I'd mention it so anyone else that might complain about DNS hiccups would know they weren't alone. [09:22] I ran the command again a few seconds later and everything went through. [09:23] (The other error: "fatal: unable to access 'https://github.com/matttproud/golang_protobuf_extensions/': Could not resolve host: github.com") [09:29] well, I guess it doesn't make much of a difference in this case, but one of them could lead to serious problems and would thus be a bug, the other is just an outage that any well-built system should be able to handle [09:31] like, "doesn't exist" would cause mail to bounce, "resolution failed" should cause it to be queued [09:45] *** gizmoguy has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 255 seconds) [09:46] *** gizmoguy has joined #arpnetworks [12:48] some resolvers are braindead and give domain name failure when they can't reach a nameserver [12:48] a lot of times with big sites when they don't work it's do with anycast type issues and sometimes they give anycast nameservers in the same region [12:49] so if one region gets blackholed for whatever reason you've got more chances of problems [12:49] So frustrating. My ISP does that. [12:49] So I have to use one of the alternatives. [12:49] that said with things like cloudflare that also want to serve content from that region it's more understandable [12:50] damn i thought it was lame windows resolvers that did that mhoran :) [16:12] *** toddf_ has joined #arpnetworks [16:12] *** ChanServ sets mode: +o toddf_ [16:16] *** toddf has quit IRC (*.net *.split) [17:19] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 268 seconds) [17:19] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [17:19] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [17:19] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [17:27] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [17:28] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [17:50] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 268 seconds) [17:54] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [17:59] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 248 seconds) [18:03] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:03] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [18:03] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:11] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [18:15] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:20] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 264 seconds) [18:21] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:21] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [18:21] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:34] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 264 seconds) [18:34] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:42] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 248 seconds) [18:46] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:46] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [18:46] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [18:55] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 268 seconds) [19:04] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:04] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [19:04] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:09] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [19:10] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:10] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [19:10] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:22] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [19:23] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:23] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [19:23] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:35] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 260 seconds) [19:39] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:44] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 248 seconds) [19:47] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:47] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [19:47] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:55] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [19:55] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [19:55] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [19:55] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [20:11] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [20:12] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [20:12] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [20:12] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [20:21] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 256 seconds) [20:21] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [20:30] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 264 seconds) [20:30] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks [20:30] *** dj_goku has quit IRC (Changing host) [20:30] *** dj_goku has joined #arpnetworks
