pjsup_the_irons: around? [15:48]
.... (idle for 17mn)
mercutio, mhoran, mike-burns, toddf, anyone around? Really just curious about my questions from yesterday (above) about Thunder ARP vs. VPS. [16:05]
mercutioit's not that much cheaper
it's just better value
your handful of smaller vps's would have more potential cpu utilisation
but a lot of the time people don't use all of their cpu anywaey
[16:06]
pjsthanks man.. Just trying to see what I was missing but seems pretty straight forward.
Think I may consolidate into 2 thunder's instead of the 7 or whatever VPS's I have
[16:09]
mercutioyeah, it's kind of inbetween dedicated and vps [16:10]
.............. (idle for 1h9mn)
pjsmercutio: gotcha, thanks! [17:19]
mercutioit's actually my favourite product.
dedicated are popular... but then you have to deal with ipmi, .. and do your own raid etc.
[17:19]
pjsoh really? I should re-read the page
I thought it said it's all configured on SSD + Ceph
[17:26]
mercutioit is
thunder is
but classic dedicated isn't i meant
which is one of the caveats...
[17:26]
pjsOh I see
I misunderstood what you wrote.. sorry :)
Sweet..
