caseyandginaup_the_irons: are you there? My Thunder was set up wrong and cost too much - it was supposed to be an "All-Purpose" with 8GB extra RAM, so like $90/month, but instead it's a $130/month "Large"-based configuration. [12:07]
brycecIf you haven't already, email support. IRC's not the place to sort our account issues. [12:10]
caseyandginaI just did [12:10]
brycecExcellent. [12:13]
caseyandginaI guess my main question is whether I should just abandon it in case it will need blown away anyways to shrink the configuration, or go ahead and start setting up my own O/S, etc. [12:20]
.......... (idle for 45mn)
brycecI'd probably assume it's going to be blown away, but that's just how I prioritize tasks -- possibility of losing work I do now versus the 15 other tasks I need to work on, I'll just work on one of those other tasks. [13:05]

caseyandginahwclock: Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method. <-- when booting up the gentoo install cd on a thunder vps, not sure if it matters [14:47]

***sjackso_ is now known as sjackso [15:16]
.... (idle for 16mn)
mercutioi don't think it should matter
i think as long as linux gets the real time, then the hwclock program isn't needed
i remember having problems saving time with hwclock a long time ago on shutdowns..

JC_Dentonah, gentoo
how i love thee
loved it for many, many years
then an ill-timed disk crash at 4 am made me hate compiling for a long, long time
