[10:10] *** ziyourenxiang has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving) [10:37] *** johnny-o has quit IRC (Quit: upgrade) [10:41] no [11:30] well that sucks [11:37] wait, so a new-additional VPS isn't functional [11:37] ? [11:38] well it just addded it to my exisiting account, but when i look at the IP information in the control panel, i dont have anything new [11:38] same IP's i have for my other mahcine. but yes i ordered an additional vps [11:42] that seems, broken [11:43] if you only have one IP and two machines, then one of the machines will have difficulty getting to the internet [11:43] well i have a /29, but had that specifically for the 1st vps. [11:43] i was expecting at least 1 new ipv4 address for the 2nd vps. [11:44] http://support.arpnetworks.com/kb/vps/how-do-i-add-an-additional-vps-to-my-existing-account [11:44] well it's routed to your vlan so if you can spare one of those ips... else you'll have to order another IP [11:46] ah, i guess that makes sense if you have a block [11:46] but what if you just have singletons [11:50] yeah. i just thought each new order would come with a new IP, since i pay for this block extra with a single vps [11:53] bummer [11:54] *** johnny-o has joined #arpnetworks [11:59] i submitted a ticket, hopefully will work with me on it. [12:04] let us know what you find out [12:16] I was moved to a larger block when I requested my second VPS. [12:16] But that was years ago & I asked for it. [12:29] gotcha, im basically asking fo rthe same thing in my ticket, more or less [17:59] IPs and services are separate in our infrastructure. We don't assign any particular IP to any particular service. That's up to you. [17:59] And if you don't have any free IPs, we actually do not have a way of knowing that, so you'd have to request more [17:59] Like, if you have a /29, you can use 1 or all 5, or none (e.g. IPv6 or RFC 1918 IP instead) [18:13] up_the_irons: or 2 or 3 or 4 :-) [18:37] up_the_irons: not in the market for an additional VPS right now myself, but if i was, is an extra IP just for that VPS typically gratis? But if someone has only 1 service, but wants more than 1 IP, then we charge for the extra. [21:35] cool [21:35] that's what i was looking for :)
