mercutio: mike-burns: is it that it doesn't pause for long enough at F12 to press? or does it just seem to net register
mike-burns: It just doesn't seem to register.
It pauses, and then it goes to to the FreeBSD boot prompt ("F1 FreeBSD" or whatever), and then it understands what I'm typing.
Actually, I haven't tried pressing F1 there ...
BryceBot: That's what she said!!
mercutio: maybe f12 is bound to something?
could try shift-f12
mike-burns: Confirmed: F1 works there.
Not sure how to tell whether F12 is bound to something.
mercutio: i dunno, my window manager shows a menu :)
mike-burns: Heh, I wrote this window manager myself ...
mercutio: wow
mike-burns: I tried Shift-F12, Ctrl-F12, Fn-F12, Alt-F12 -- nothing.
mercutio: i'm using notion. i've been using ion/notion for around 15 years...
that host is legacy
mike-burns: Yup.
mercutio: it maybe best to put in request to change hosts
mike-burns: Trying a different VNC client first ...
mercutio: ahh
i use tigervnc
mike-burns: I got it!
BryceBot: That's what she said!!
mercutio: there are quite a few clients
so something was binding f12?
maybe the client? :)
mike-burns: It might be.
I used an Android VNC client.
So now I have a tiny tiny screen and the worst of all keyboards.
mercutio: but proof that it's your desktop having issues
you can use usb otg adapters on most phones btw
and plug a normal keyboard in
fIorz_: just use the "serial" console?
mnathani: does kvr02 not have the awesome NoVNC installed?

nathani: Is there a test file to check speed from Germany location
***: fIorz_ has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 252 seconds)
mercutio: not yet
mnathani: VMs in Germany have access to the full 1 Gbit on both v4 and v6, or is it capped at 100meg like LAX?
