up_the_irons: it does show the F12 prompt, yes.
mike-burns: is it that it doesn't pause for long enough at F12 to press? or does it just seem to net register
It just doesn't seem to register.
It pauses, and then it goes to to the FreeBSD boot prompt ("F1 FreeBSD" or whatever), and then it understands what I'm typing.
Actually, I haven't tried pressing F1 there ...
That's what she said!!
maybe f12 is bound to something?

Confirmed: F1 works there.
Not sure how to tell whether F12 is bound to something.

That's what she said!!
there are quite a few clients
so something was binding f12?
maybe the client? :)
It might be.
I used an Android VNC client.

mnathani: it doesn't have serial console, or novnc, or boot menu
err it doesnt' have serial console at boot
it still does when it gets into OS
