I accidentally installed the wrong debian version as a result ;-) [18:14] fIorz_: what version did you want? that'll be a bug if it's not working on our DE node [18:15] it looks like "debian-7.8.0-amd64-netinst.iso" is mounted currently [18:16] yeah, I am now reinstalling [18:16] when shut down, it works just fine [18:17] hmm it shouldn't be that way [18:17] but OK, if you got what you need now, that's good [18:17] possibly some interaction with CD drive locking or something? [18:18] not sure, it works fine with other hosts (but a hard reboot is required) [18:19] I might have switched while in the installer, which sooner or later (at least when mounting the CD) would lock the drive on real hardware [18:20] but the next power off/boot apparently got me back to the same installer, and I didn't realize that the same background image might indicate something hadn't quite worked ;-) [18:22] but yeah, no urgent problem for me, but a note could have saved me some time (or a fix, if it's a bug ...) [18:25] it's a bug, so i'm going to look into it [18:32] now the real question is if fIorz_ would have said anything had I not lost the IRC idle game :-) [18:32] *g* [18:58] fIorz_: I found the source of the bug and implemented a fix; it works on some of my test VMs. Let me know if you have any further problems. [19:03] up_the_irons: sure, so far everything seems to be working fine, reverse delegation is also functional now ... [19:42] were there any beta VMs going around? Had never done a Debian upgrade before and it was quite different from what I expected. Things are mostly working now, but having problems getting postgresql to start -- there's an init file missing it seems. [22:27] Anyhow, thanks for the offer.
