plett: In an ideal world, I want a disk image which I can clone and use on dozens of virtual machines and which has cloud-init or something similar baked into it to provision itself on first boot. I want the image to be as small as possible, so strip src, man, ports tree etc
I've also found http://mfsbsd.vx.sk/ which looks like it might do what I need
mercutio: i'd just use openbsd, and normal install, personally.
the biggest service of concern is sshd which has privilege seperation these days.
