mnathani has joined #arpnetworks mnathani: anyone know of a web service, preferably free that will watch domain names and notify when they are up for expiry ***: mnathani has quit IRC () mercutio: mnathani: i wouldn't trust those, it should say the date it finishes pending?
oh he's gone ***: mnathani has joined #arpnetworks mercutio: mnathani: you're back :)
if i do whois on domain name it says pending release, here they give 90 days..
so you can look at the date it says it's pending from
then just set a reeminder for the right day
i got one one of my domains from pending ***: nathani1 is now known as nathani mnathani: I am looking for reminder to renew my own domains and those of my clients
I guess it could just as easily be done with a spreadsheet and check every quarter or six month mercutio: oh
your registrar should email that to you mnathani: I am not the person to contact for all my client domains
also they tend to ignore emails at times mercutio: not even technical client? mike-burns: Or a calendar reminder via Fruux/Google Calender/etc.? mercutio: i actually have no idea which they email mnathani: calender again requires manual input / updating
perhaps I can find a bash script or similar
found http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/domain-check-script.html mercutio: fwiw my domains autorenew
certificates on the other hand.. mike-burns: https://kristaps.bsd.lv/letskencrypt/ - might help with certs next time. brycec: mnathani: there is (was?) domainical.org which takes publishes a personal .ics feed. mnathani: thanks brycec: almost exactly what I was looking for mercutio: so i tried one of those cheap usb temperature sensors, seems inaccurate of course, but still should be interesting to be able to graph ambient temperature :)
apparently temperature dropped 3c while i was out, but now it feels warmer. temperature is always subjective :) mnathani: are you using cacti to graph the temperature & does the usb sensor support SNMP polling? mercutio: Nah it only came today
Took long enough figuring out how to read it
I wonder if I can SNMP to my server while it is off to do other room
I have been thinking I want pmss
@google pmss BryceBot: 30,800 total results returned for 'pmss', here's 3
