[13:00] mercutio: which nvme did you get, and how do you like it? [13:02] we bought a handful of the 1.2tb intel p3600 series.. really happy/impressed with them. except on our promxmox hosts. even with PCI passthrough, they are like 25% as fast. 750MB/s [13:02] luckily, they are dedicated to an individual VM, so pci passthrough is an option, it was even slower using openvz. [14:44] jpalmer: so what impresses you about them if they don't work well in a VM environment? [14:47] jpalmer: i've got two. sm951, and 950 pro [14:47] much more impressed the 128gb sm951 than 256gb 950 pro [14:48] i can't get windows to go fast with it atm. and linux doesn't need it :) [14:48] with liunx if you want to max out nvme ssd's you really need hgih readahead [14:51] although the samsung nvme ssd's don't even have power loss protection so do slow random write speeds [16:31] *** paigeat has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) [17:15] i suspect someone else in here uses chrome on linux. has anyone else found cutting and pasting from url bar doesn't work properly sometimes recently? [17:15] ie you'll get the last thing you cut rather the new thing you cut [18:17] mercutio: i use chrome on linux. i also use vimium and the "yank" copies the whole bar IME. [18:24] ahh i'm triple-clicking [20:35] *** nathani has quit IRC (Quit: WeeChat 1.3) [21:01] *** nathani has joined #arpnetworks [21:16] Chrome really needs some tab management: http://i.imgur.com/ZmFauoW.png
