we bought a handful of the 1.2tb intel p3600 series.. really happy/impressed with them. except on our promxmox hosts. even with PCI passthrough, they are like 25% as fast. 750MB/s
luckily, they are dedicated to an individual VM, so pci passthrough is an option, it was even slower using openvz. up_the_irons: jpalmer: so what impresses you about them if they don't work well in a VM environment? mercutio: jpalmer: i've got two. sm951, and 950 pro
much more impressed the 128gb sm951 than 256gb 950 pro
i can't get windows to go fast with it atm. and linux doesn't need it :)
with liunx if you want to max out nvme ssd's you really need hgih readahead
