i suspect you have higher resolution and it's just scaling.

imgur does not, not if you're viewing the "original". (but it does strip all Exif data, including location tags)

Yes. That's why imgur strips it.
(I even use Imgur to strip it before I share photos with people, because location tagging)
(I like location tagging for personal use though, so I leave it enabled)
