mercutio | so ctrl-4 does a coredump
and ctrl-3 is like pressing escape i was wondering what key i accidentally pressed that killed programs :) | [15:48]
brycec | lol, not universal (depends on the terminal) but yes, many terminals do sent control characters
C-2 is break too | [15:57]
BryceBot | That's what she said!! | [15:57]
brycec | BryceBot: no | [15:58]
BryceBot | Oh, okay... I'm sorry. 'C-2 is break too' | [15:58]
brycec | (See stty)
(not for an explanation about Ctrl-$X but just other terminal signals/settings) | [15:58]

mercutio | yeah i don't remember it from the past
but i do remember using ctrl-[19:56] <mercutio> it's something to do with my ctrl-b-4 that seems to somehow mean i do ctrl-4 sometimes oh right ctrl-b 4 switches windows in tmux, ctrl-b ctrl-4 closes the current application ctrl-b-4 is kind of fiddly i want an extra set of keys for stuff like that :) windows-4 etc changes virtual desktops and alt-4 etc changes windows inside weechat i need another modifier :) | [19:55]

brycec | One of many reasons I use a single-key modifier, `
SImple and easy, `4 | [22:08]
mercutio | that key is used so much though :)
does sound handy though | [22:10]
brycec | Not for me it's not | [22:11]
mercutio | do you double press it to pass it through? | [22:11]
brycec | Only case I'd use it is as shell backtick, but I prefer $() instead.
`a actually `` swaps to the previous window | [22:11]
mercutio | interesting | [22:11]
brycec | mercutio: .tmux.conf http://sprunge.us/URah | [22:13]
mercutio | oh nice
wget'ing puts ^M everywhere :) but thanks :) | [22:14]
brycec | (It didn't quite copy/paste right, the unicode characters are mucked etc)
(Directly uploaded) | [22:15]
mercutio | yeah that's better. no ^M :)
what window manager do you use bryce? out of curiosity. | [22:16]
brycec | awesome | [22:17]
mercutio | ahh
i thought you'd be using a tiling wm at least :) | [22:17]
brycec | I... am? | [22:19]
mercutio | yeh awesome is considered tiling
as opposed to stacking | [22:19]
