pyvpx: we getting there :) here's a pic from last week: https://www.flickr.com/photos/130053163@N03/24258698192/in/dateposted-public/ there's a datacenter in germany? mkb: there is now ;) pyvpx: bah *we're up_the_irons: will you deploy IPv6 in hardware in Germany, or replicate the current setup? mnathani_: IPv6 in hardware, right from the start all 1 Gbps uplinks too. The advantage of starting from scratch \o/ do you have a test ip to check latency is the hardware brand new with service agreements and warranty or are they off lease from another provider and such if all ports are 1 gig, shouldnt the uplinks be more like 10gig etc Not really; we haven't needed 10 Gbps in LA, so I don't imagine in a place where there is hardly any equipment that we need to start off with 10 Gbps uplinks. There's a significant increase in cost for that. Network gear is used but with a long warranty from a reputable company. Dedicated servers will be new, like in LA. VPS gear may be new or used, depends on what I find. We don't have a test IP yet thanks for the info up_the_irons! I would imagine others would also be curious about this new German deployement mnathani_: no problem. I'll be posting more updates here as it happens. this is pretty interesting, glad to see expansion being able to distribute to multiple locations but stick with the same trusted provider is great
