[18:28] mkb: there is now [18:28] ;) [18:28] pyvpx: bah *we're [19:09] up_the_irons: will you deploy IPv6 in hardware in Germany, or replicate the current setup? [19:11] mnathani_: IPv6 in hardware, right from the start [19:12] all 1 Gbps uplinks too. [19:12] The advantage of starting from scratch [19:12] \o/ [19:13] do you have a test ip [19:13] to check latency [19:14] is the hardware brand new with service agreements and warranty [19:14] or are they off lease from another provider and such [19:15] if all ports are 1 gig, shouldnt the uplinks be more like 10gig etc [19:18] Not really; we haven't needed 10 Gbps in LA, so I don't imagine in a place where there is hardly any equipment that we need to start off with 10 Gbps uplinks. There's a significant increase in cost for that. [19:19] Network gear is used but with a long warranty from a reputable company. Dedicated servers will be new, like in LA. VPS gear may be new or used, depends on what I find. [19:20] We don't have a test IP yet [19:29] thanks for the info up_the_irons! I would imagine others would also be curious about this new German deployement [19:30] mnathani_: no problem. I'll be posting more updates here as it happens. [19:33] this is pretty interesting, glad to see expansion [19:34] being able to distribute to multiple locations but stick with the same trusted provider is great
