apparently synergy is free for thanksgiving
didnt realized there was a paid version of synergy
I have only ever used it when it was free
yeh it's been non free for a while
code of thanksgiving2015 lets you create account and then you can download it
but you can install it normally on linux
it's all a bit messy
wow jerks hehe, charge $29 for pro edition to use SSL

the ssl mode in synergy causes constant crashes too
i leave it disabled and use an ssh tunnel instead
thre aren't any good alternatives though
yeah, at least the free one gets the job done well enough
i just dont think they're adding much value with their paid options
well they have to fund expensive offices somehow
i can sort of half-see the benefit in having a commercial product based upon synergy
but as a user it's completely the wrong way i want to see it going, but really at the end of the day it's up to the developers, and you can always fork it.
