[18:08] <kellytk> I'm in the process of allowing both.  What I'm wondering is if usernames have become antiquated.  I've been away from web dev for nearly a decade

[18:09] <mike-burns> Honestly, not much. But I guess handles like on Twitter or Trello.
[18:10] <mike-burns> Of the five or six Web apps I built for clients last year, 0 involved usernames and all involved email+passwd. That's my anecdote.

[18:11] <mike-burns> Two that I can think of.
[18:12] <mike-burns> But one of them uses GitHub auth instead of email+passwd. GitHub, in turn, uses email+passwd.

[18:12] <kellytk> Ok, so it seems the trend is moving away from usernames as auth credentials, and back to social handles
