nsivyeranyone from accounts in here? [07:19]
mkbnsivyer: it's usually better to e-mail support or open a ticket [07:33]
nsivyersure, thanks [07:34]
mkbmercutio, you know I used to have TCPKeepAlive no, ServerAliveInterval 120 in my .ssh/config and I took it out to reduce how much custom configuration I have
I wonder if it would help my problems with AT&T u-verse
[07:37]
***nsivyer has left [07:41]
plettI'd use mosh if I needed to keep an interactive session running over a flaky network [07:45]
mhoranIuse it on my phone.
I don't use it on my desktop.
[07:47]
m0undsi use it on my notebook because of flaky networks (cellular aircard dingus)
i also kind of like closing the lid on the machine, opening it and having my session resume
[07:50]
plettI use it on my laptop. It's nice to be able to suspend it and have sessions still work fine when I open the lid again
But yes, if I had flaky network between a desktop and a server, I'd be fixing the network rather than working around it with client-side apps
[07:50]
mkbthe problem is that the network just stops going for five seconds about once a minute
I think it's their crap router getting confused
[07:52]
m0undspppoe? does it drop and resync or anything? [07:55]
mkbI don't think so. It's proprietary (VDSL but a third-party modem won't work because it can't do their encryption) [07:57]
........................................................... (idle for 4h50mn)
mercutioit's nat connections that keepalive helps with
well and closing unused connections where you've chagned ip etc
mkb: that shoudl be fine
