Trying to figure out how to get Weechat to work the way I want it.  Anyone have a set of configs they want to send my way?

For me, it worked out of the box, no configging...
(worked the way I wanted, out of the box)
because my use is mostly default w/a couple of irssi aliases that i was used to
and some filters i set up to remove turd packets

does weechat 1.0 allow you to add filters based on hostmask? didn't work in .4.3 or whatever the previous stable version was
(the one i'm on)
i was adding ignores for webchat agents on a couple networks because they're nearly always terrible or spammers

Well, I guess I'm not really sure. I've seen some very nice-looking screen shots, but it doesn't look like that out of the box.
Really i need to sit down and read through the manual
I'd say mine looks very nice...
(again, no configuration besides adding aliases and filters)
So I suppose the next logical question is - what did those screenshots look like, can you link one/some to us? Might be able to point you in the right direction(s) then.

so I connect to my ZNC server

How do I switch between channels? /window list just does nothing - no errors... nothing
Click if you have mouse on, or /buffer ##, or alt-# or alt-arrow

When I /buffer list, it shows it in the first buffer, that's why it appears to do nothing
ok so here's what I think I want
On the left side, I'd like a listing of all the servers I'm connected to, and under each server there should be an item for 'status' and items for each channel i'm connected to, as well as any query windows
and they should get highlighted when there's a new message in any of them.
Then in the middle, for now I just want one window, which ever channel/query/whatever is active. then on the right, the nicks in the current channel.
That's the standard layout. You probably also want the autosort.py plugin.
(Standard layout being buffer list on the left, nicks on the right, and buffers in the middle)
And hilighting is automatic
Not quite sure what you meant "an item for 'status'" - what would the status be? (also, don't think it's easily doable without some scripting)
Status is stuff from the server, notices, wallops, things like that.
All that stuff is in the server's buffer
and... my default layout does not have that list on the left

(iirc there's some responsive layout stuff, either automatic or enableable, that disables columns in small windows)

I have no idea why you wouldn't have the default layout then
I installed it from the freebsd ports collection
that may be it - it could be a default for debian.
So we'll just blame the port maintainer :p
