i was watching players getting weapons infractions and getting blown up by station guns in elite dangerous
anyone noticed crazy random jitter to arp?
started at almost precisely 1600hrs mdt yesterday
forward path looks the same, just higher, more variable latency on nlayer

acf_: m0unds: can't say I've noticed that
only nlayer thing I have is Comcast, and that's only nlayer one way (Comcast -> ARP)
which doesn't seem to be affected by this
so nlayer into arp is okay then?
m0unds: it's jittery
brycec: @smokeping

m0unds: hm
oh well
brycec: It's staggering what a difference resetting the TWC cable modem (at 11am or so) made on these graphs. https://smokeping.cobryce.com/?target=ARP.ARPWebsite

that's my comcast-provided SMC something or other
brycec: That doesn't look bad
m0unds: the pkt loss is more related to reorienting physical stuff here to new cable
and moved the modem from a cabinet to my rack
brycec: The Comcast info on my Smokeping is on a Cisco modem

most boring graph i have
haha

.6ms too, sweet
(I'm guessing that's not to ARP though)

i just had to wipe roasted jalapeno hummus off my cat. i fumbled the lid and it fell and landed flat on his side
-: brycec slow-claps
brycec: Any day you have to wipe hummus off your cat must be a good day
m0unds: hahaha, yup
he was less pissed than i would have expected. just sort of looked at the lid, then at me, then sat there staring at it
brycec: Sounds like a cat alright

is that what you were talking about?
brycec: I didn't see any disruption, packet loss or jitter spikes https://smokeping.cobryce.com/?target=ARP.ARPWebsite

brycec: acf_: up_the_irons was changing routes around that day
acf_: strange that it would happen to arpnetworks.com though
brycec: note that it shows on 3/4 monitoring hosts
acf_: IIRC he rebooted one of the routers
or took it offline
or some such
acf_: oh it was that day
-: brycec has shit memory for these things
up_the_irons: things look OK over here. i'm sending out mail, responding to tickets, seems to be getting out...
brycec: It might also correspond to some data transfer my VPS has been doing for I don't know how long
acf_: seems to align nicely with m0unds graph from earlier (http://i.imgur.com/XPfEMYa.png)
