| brycec | Yep. Chromecast has no advanced connection stuff like VPN. Your only option is to put it behind a router that will route the traffic as you desire, such as setting up a separate AP/VLAN and the router putting all that traffic over a VPN connection. And you could always script the "toggle"
However, IIRC only the Netflix app (assuming that's what we're talking about) cares about your region/geoip. The streaming data itself doesn't care, and the app simply instructs the Chromecast "hey, fetch and play this stream". So just setup the VPN connection on your phone and go.

up_the_irons is very, very hands-on and a us-east is pushing the limits of ability to be hands-on (gotta ship equipment, or source locally while staying in a local hotel, etc just for the setup).
