acf: isdn doesn't usually do modem compression, so you want ppp soft compression, or to use ssh compression or whatever :)
64kbit is hell slow
but it's still slightly better than dialup
mercutio: 128k with both channels
I understand that ISDN was a lot more popular here in Europe than in the USA
(and still is, for people who need multi-channel voice and haven't gone to VoIP yet)

actually, we have some too - wide area progressive slot telemetry. one isdn per bank of waps. used to run on dial up, haha

9-10 was easy here
ports build took a while (naturally) but other than that, it was uneventful
