oh, but the bot doesn't sequence its edits, too bad. brycec: sjackso: In a busy channel with multiple people sed'ing, that would be chaos m0unds: hahahah

tesla_ has joined #arpnetworks tesla_: hello
couple questions, 1) can i get a free upgrade to the special located on the front page? :)
2) the vnc connection to the console seems to close about 3-4 seconds after connect, is this an issue with the vnc server or something on my end? brycec: tesla_: 1) That's best asked in an email to support@arpnetworks
tesla_: 2) More than likely, yes it's your client. You can try stopping/starting your instance which will obviously restart the VNC server.
It would be helpful to indicate which host (kvrXX) you're on so others on the same host might be able to weigh in, ex: VNC working fine for me. tesla_: ok cool, didnt know that restarting the instance would also restart vnc ***: tesla_ has quit IRC (Quit: leaving) brycec: Since VNC is served from the kvm instance, it is. Not that they're hear to know that. ***: tesla_ has joined #arpnetworks tesla_: apparently it was my Real VNC mac os client
chicken works brycec: Good to hear.
tesla_: FYI VNC is served by the 'kvm' process, so stopping/starting the VM restarts VNC tesla_: thanks i appreciate the info
ill remember for next time i think there may be an issue
back in a few, upgrading ***: tesla_ has quit IRC (Client Quit) m0unds: was gonna say, screen sharing (osx inbuilt vnc) is pretty functional on osx brycec: 'tis what I use on OSX

email via emergencyemail.org, emergency notification via EAS, cortana brycec: Cortana, the AI in Halo? Sheesh I'm really out of the loop -: brycec stops trolling m0unds: haw haw
the only things she gets used for is weather alerts and letting me know if traffic to work is heavy enough to warrant leaving early brycec: Oh is Cortana the Windows Phone equivalent to Siri? m0unds: yep brycec: cool beans m0unds: they used the voice actress for her natural speech stuff too mnathani: what can explain: [root@localhost ~]# ping google.com.
PING google.com (206.248.151.110) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 206-248-151-110.dsl.ncf.ca (206.248.151.110): icmp_seq=1 ttl=59 time=9.96 msy
looks like my ISP is now hosting google server or caches m0unds: yep
seems that way brycec: I would consider whether they're intercepting :/ mnathani: dig google.com @8.8.8.8
206.248.151.80
206.248.151.110 RandalSchwartz: google 8.8.8.8 seems somewhat broken right now mnathani: 206.248.151.121 RandalSchwartz: I had to pull it out of my resolv.conf
I was getting failures about 30% brycec: I don't trust Google.com not being served from a Google-owned IP
mnathani: I get google.com. 299 IN A 74.125.224.38
(and 15 other addresses
) m0unds: you're not in canada though RandalSchwartz: thank goodness! brycec: (sorry 10) m0unds: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25923266-Teksavvy-provides-services-to-Google-to-speed-up-YouTube- mnathani: dig google.com @ns1.google.com RandalSchwartz: oooh - traceroute to 8.8.8.8 isn't taking the usual routes mnathani: 173.194.43.65 and 10 other addresses RandalSchwartz: although the intermediate hops look good brycec: I realize that Google could be geographically targeting the DNS reply, or TS could be intercepting DNS traffic
Hard to say the "normal route" for an anycast IP :p m0unds: they likely are, there's a ton of posts from ISP reps on dslr talking about google having caching gear in cages at their dcs
dcs/pops/whatever RandalSchwartz: if only netflix could do the same...
oh wait... they do provide that... just verizon is being a butthead brycec: RandalSchwartz: Netflix can do the same...
Right m0unds: their openconnect gear runs freebsd RandalSchwartz: really? cool brycec: I still feel that Google should own the IP's their caches feed from
Otherwise, I'm going to assume I've been hijacked m0unds: https://www.netflix.com/openconnect/software brycec: But not ZFS, as I recall m0unds: yeah, that was the thing that i thought when i saw that address (hijacked) brycec: At least the dslr link you linked, it reversed back to a useful name
"teksavvy...youtube.com mnathani: even if its not Google space, it should have google rdns and relevant A records pointing back
206-248-151-110.dsl.ncf.ca << that one seems really sketchy brycec: What, 206-248-151-110.dsl.ncf.ca. isn't relevant enough for you? It definitely doesn't look like some random customer at all :P m0unds: yeah, haha brycec: Registrar ncf.ca: Name: (10dollar.ca) 10 Dollar Domain Names Inc.
Fuck it, time to tunnel. RandalSchwartz: "I'll buy that for ten dollars!" m0unds: the hop before it when i tracerouted it had tor in the rdns
which..toronto?
maybe? -: m0unds has no idea m0unds: haha
damned canadians brycec: Probably m0unds: i'd buy that for ten dollars RandalSchwartz: toronto is the tor center, right?

it's been as high as 4000 :) brycec: m0unds: Tell them to shut the doors, it'll be fine. m0unds: hahahaha
they're on black divert, so i guess the sewer is having issues too brycec: "help I'm hurt" "too bad, we can't flood the whole hospital just to help you"
oh geez that's bad news indeed m0unds: this one is shitty anyway RandalSchwartz: all the bars exchange at 12.5 to 1, so I pull out MXN when I get there, and get up to 13.5 m0unds: both before the sewer and after
