up_the_irons: how's everyone doing this tuesday afternoon?
zeit seems to be serving a lot of NTP req's now, sweet
brycec: Oh? sweet
-: brycec accounts for 3 of which
brycec: I shouldn't be surprised, it's in the ntp pool with a 100mbps link
And it's 1 onf 141 IPv6 NTP servers in the US
http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/us
up_the_irons: Any plans on a Debian mirror? You have all the BSDs and even Ubuntu, but still no Debian
(oh and you have centos too)
up_the_irons: ah cool
I'm kinda out of disk space
brycec: lolol
up_the_irons: all those mirrors chew through the disk
i could upgrade to larger disks, but then that becomes a major pain
brycec: heh, cool
I vote for dumping Centos
Out of spite, and because their mirroring/mirrorlist stuff overrules hosting your own mirror in many cases.
(And by overrules, I mean it makes it a bit of a hassle, but that's just how yum is.)
hazardous: people use centos still?
brycec: Exactly!
-: brycec returns to beating on a centos5 system
brycec: fwiw my Debian mirror is 101GB
which covers wheezy and squeeze, both i386 and amd64
main, contrib, and non-free
m0unds: haha
centos has a ton of mirrors
i have one centos vm, serving pbx duty, and it seems to always default to xmission's mirror
which are extremely fast for me
brycec: Soooo many mirrors
At work, I just hijack mirrorlist.centos.org and return the URL to my own local mirror
And hopefully nothing breaks :)
m0unds: hahaha
i got my AC fixed today
i'm a happy dude at this point
$1385
brycec: w00t!
m0unds: my scanner randomly stopped working with windows
mercutio: m0unds: that's cheaper than it was souding before
m0unds: yep, i got lucky lucky lucky
haha

jpalmer: up_the_irons: if you are out of space on the mirror.. centos is about to start dropping centos7, so.. you might want to consider that.
