since enabling the green bar/clock in tmux, i've had a stable connection to my vps with the strict pf ruleset
something like 5 days now with no d/c, unheard of before
that's weird
so it's most likely an issue of my pf firewall timing out state and terminating the connection

if you have a static ip, you could always skip traffic from your home connection
