I wonder how hard this timeframe for kvr10 going down is. CaZe: it'll be on twitter i start at the beginning of maintenance window, on the dot Oh, so I should power down now then. looks like CaZe powered down ;) lol mnathani: Ah you're migrating secondary domains <.< >.> $ uptime 23:49:12 up 1429 days, 20:52, 2 users, load average: 6.70, 5.80, 5.30 $ damn i hate to ruin that Good luck, I guess. (because I have nothing else I could say) up_the_irons: for PROGRESS sheit thats pretty amazing for a vm host What? jbergstroem: i have ones up even longer than that up_the_irons: how many psu's have you churned through one of those uptimes? jbergstroem: none actually wow Sweet, my VPS is back up. CaZe: yep, upgrade went quite smooth Cool, now I can go to sleep. :P :) up_the_irons: How are the load averages on kvr10 now? $ uptime 02:43:32 up 1:49, 1 user, load average: 0.41, 0.60, 1.04 $ mnathani: ^^ pretty low at the moment up_the_irons: do you have something like cacti graph the load averages over time for all the kvr hosts? just had a filling fall out that was about 50% of my tooth :( phlux: that sucks had something similar happen last year, had to get a crown put in in october mnathani: i have munin graphs m0unds: did getting the crown hurt? nah good dentists numb the shit out of your mouth man I have to use military dentists 99% of the time suuuuuuuuuuucks I hope this civilian dentist will hook me up with some nitrous oxide tomorrow hmm my vps went down hmm panic on free list modified in the em driver hopefulyl kvr15 gets updated soon :) sounds like there is a vote for kvr15... i'm doing kvr23 next week, i think... i might do two next week, so... they're not exactly in order are they nope mainly by need did level3 get up? cos i think it was a couple of days ago or something you were saynig some config on your end was nedded but level3 had got their end done i think? almost ready leve3 ? level3 heh i had just asked half an hour before you came in hey mercutio what version of openbsd use? djmarlino: some version just after the annoying changes but before the proper release i should probably update it sometime level3 took a pretty long time diagnosing what seems to be some layer 1 problem on their side. our bgp session kept bouncing consistently (after like 3 minutes), and i think they finally fixed it. i have to investigate further though might need to clean some fiber on my end, since they see some loss still oh look, Level 3 is up for outbound (i haven't announced our routes yet) mtr out from your vps / dedi and you'll see DOH first host I mtr'd from my VPS: arpnetworks.com 4.2.2.2 was a solid second choice <1ms to 4.2.2.2 What is mtr? Oh, traceroute + ping/ brycec: LOL "arpnetworks.com" what is that , like 1 hop? ;) CaZe: mtr is basically a replacement for traceroute. i've never used traceroute after discovering mtr. SOOOO much nicer do it traceroute and keep ntt? from kvr28 we still have ntt, with full routes from ntt and level3, so you'll see either one or the other depending on bgp path selection (generally, shortest ASN path) like what asn for example? level 3 works fine Like AS3356 :P And yes up_the_irons, 1 hop between VPS and arpnetworks.com. And oddly, slightly higher latency (.2ms) than to 4.2.2.2 oh hmm yes indeed 4.2.2.2 moved lots of stuff i trace to is on coresite :) and more ntt than level3 so far probably cos it's a vm usually vm's are 0.1 to 0.2 msec higher pings than real machines so when total ping time is around 0.6 that can factor in cacti graphs are showing more traffic to ntt than to level 3 like 60% ntt and 40% level 3 it looked that way from mtr bu ti have no idea about cable etc users or what ip to trace to :) it may make sense to push cogent or such via level3 rather than ntt
