BryceBot: host uptime: 1 days, 17 hours, 48 minutes, and 13.399999999994 seconds.
brycec: :(
Also, yesterdays big, stupid mistake (I think you can guess and figure it out from this one line alone): brycec@sunblade150 ~/55 % ftp ftp://mirrors.syringanetworks.net/pub/OpenBSD/5.5/macppc/*
m0unds: oof
openbsd for your..powermac?
sunblade = ultrasparc?
brycec: machine is a Sunblade 150 (sparc64)
And I wasn't paying attention, just copy/pasted my commands after upgrading a macppc system
m0unds: whoops

mercutio: is there a network issue atm?
it may be localised, it seems to get as far as 10.10.10.6 which seems to be what coresite stuff goes to

brycec: mercutio: Are you sure? That's an unroutable address... 17:27:49 < mercutio> it may be localised, it seems to get as far as 10.10.10.6 which seems to be what coresite stuff goes to
mercutio: i mean when i mtr to www.phoronix.com for i nstance
brycec: Yeah that's weird, and ARP's DNS seems to be down
up_the_irons: ^^
mercutio: i think it's down cos they host their own dns
so it can't reach the nameservers
brycec: Could be, I didn't look closely
mercutio: yeah i dunno i just thought it strange
brycec: Thing is my home DNS resolved it fine
(And I could traceroute to other places fine)
mnathani: is it possible to compile the linux kernel using gcc from within windows? say using eclipse or similar development environment
brycec: mercutio: eg microsoft.com goes over coresite too, no issues
Probably not the vanilla distribution, but I know of some BSPs that do that (compile linux+etc from VisualStudio)
*I've known
Yeah, if nothing else, ARP's DNS is defintely being whacky. ARP's DNS won't even resolve ns.phoronix.com (which is stored on [abcd...].gtld-servers.net
