I wouldn't mind rewriting it, it's a little cobbled together in places (forked it from someone else and have been adding features, not refactoring)

gizmoguy: its still pretty basic.  (What we use at work)  but I want to work on it pretty aggressively.    so, pull requests are welcome.

What do folks here think about FreeNAS?
Its essentially software based RAID / ZFS but does anyone in here actually use it for their day to day storage needs?
i use zfs with linux
from my understanding it's basically a custom freebsd with zfs
and the various zfs groups are working together except for the solaris group
