staticsafe: indeed m0unds: i'm glad they got the backend stuff fix before the release of fbsd10
fixed* hazardous: wait i just got here, toddf works for openbsd foundation? brycec: I know he's involved and has a mirror of the website... Dunno about working /for/ OpenBSD
(An /outdated/ mirror, toddf *ahem*. At least that was last I checked a month ago.) toddf: I do not work for the foundation
there is no 'working for OpenBSD' jcv: hi toddf. didn't realize you were here. brycec: lol toddf: there is 'a developer (with commit privs) of OpenBSD' which I am
as for my 'outdated site' .. I have some issues to work out that get it updated regularly reliably .. has been a work in progress longer than I'd like .. as of the current moment (just checked) my mirror is completely uptodate with anoncvs.openbsd.org .. *shrug* brycec: Perhaps it is now, I have no idea :P (I can't even remember the URL). When I stumbled across it before (looking for a working cvsweb, www.openbsd.org's was down), it mentioned 5.3 and 5.4 had been out for awhile. toddf: openbsd.fries.net brycec: Yep, looking much better :) CaZe: toddf: Did you build my kernel? :D

but ic an't think of anywhere good to ask actually brycec: heh
I can think of a couple... mercutio: freeswitch, yate, asterisk brycec: But if you don't stick around for an answer, then I'm not going to bother.
Yep
And "security" is always up to you ;) mercutio: i don't know about video support though brycec: Asterisk and FreeSwitch support video mercutio: did you read about how bad asterisk code base is meant to be? brycec: It's nothing too special mercutio: yate does brycec: No idea what you're talking about... mercutio: i think it's prett simple to imeplement
yate is another free one
i think it's russian brycec: no no, about the code base mercutio: oh brycec: I'm familiar with Yate :p mercutio: the freeswitch guy
that used to code on asterisk
i'll try and find it -: brycec has written modules for Asterisk. i routinely stab and smash windows. mercutio: http://www.freeswitch.org/node/117 m0unds: hahahah brycec: Video support is mostly "don't reject SDP messages defining codecs X, Y, and Z" :p
oh wow, old post mercutio: yeah i read it years back :/
hence why i was struggling to figure out where -: brycec is more embedded in the Asterisk world than he'd like to admit. Or be :( brycec: Anyhow mercutio: nice
:/
how's your smokeping been going? brycec: probably good, I assume :P
No alarms thrown
And I've been working on other stuff. Haven't finished the traceroute integration yet. mercutio: oh yip -: brycec adds to the TODO list "alarm when slaves don't report" brycec: Son of a.... i am thinking about writing my own todo type program :)
cos i reshuffle things a lot brycec: In the past, I've kept TODO's in various online checklists (Hollyapp, Google Keep, Trello) but eventually they get too big and I ignore them. mercutio: so often lots of things just stay mental cos it's easier to reorganise staticsafe: i love how traffic graphs look on smokeping hosts - http://i.imgur.com/o1k4iCS.png brycec: I'd recommend trying any or all of those ^ mercutio: well i want something to globally make everythign lower priority brycec: lol staticsafe mercutio: cos i like sticking in "high priority" things m0unds: haha mercutio: and to easily rotate around priorities etc
iwant something command line
that i can also integrate a pastebin-type-functionality into m0unds: my todo stuff for work exists in an incident tracker or exchange tasks mercutio: and also use for normal notes staticsafe: i just use google keep
wfm mercutio: hmm haven't heard of google keep
i basically want to be able to chuck things in without thinking too much
and clean them up later brycec: lol m0unds mercutio: so like if i getr some werid kind of "rpoblem" i can paste any debugging stuff into it, then later clarify m0unds: professional accountability sucks, fyi
haha
i'm required to keep pending tasks in the incident tracker for regulatory reasons, it's nonsense mercutio: heh m0unds: stupid government entity
as a completely unrelated aside - Bosch on Amazon VOD pilots is really good mercutio: haven't heard of it m0unds: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I3MPDP4/ref=amb_link_398661142_7?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=0R8K2BXAYAHR5KYN3J2B&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1736236182&pf_rd_i=1001155581 BryceBot: Error fetching information for http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I3MPDP4/ref=amb_link_398661142_7?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=0R8K2BXAYAHR5KYN3J2B&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1736236182&pf_rd_i=1001155581: Can't call method "find" on an undefined value m0unds: haha mercutio: it wants silverlight
wtf m0unds: there's another pilot from chris carter (x-files) called the after mercutio: then click on flash and it goes back m0unds: that was pretty good too, but i liked bosch better mercutio: so you click on play again
and it gives termas and conditions, accept them adn it goes back to the page
oh 3rd time lucky m0unds: huh. mercutio: now i get to wait for connecting
i don't think it's working m0unds: i just selected Bosch via amazon vod on my xbox and it played, haha mercutio: oh i'm using that web site you linked m0unds: oh, that was just for the synopsis or whatever
hahaha
no idea if it'd work for you mercutio: ahh ok
i found it on imdb
but i'll just take your word for it
i found another way to get it mnathani: anyone familiar with asterisk and dialplans?
I am trying to figure out which file to put those commands: http://www.freepbx.org/comment/14473#comment-14473 -: brycec mnathani: to enable dialing with +signs brycec: Woo, slave back online. When I switched that system to pkgng, the smokeping rc script got switched to something useless.
mnathani: That's a pretty hackish cludge, and totally wrong (and barely workable)
mnathani: Are you just trying to support dialed numbers starting with +? mnathani: yup brycec: Vanilla Asterisk? Or using something like FreePBX on top? mnathani: need to replace + with 011
vanilla asterisk
except for +1 which can be replaced with nothing brycec: ...vanilla Asterisk... but you don't know which file to change? :( mnathani: I am new to asterisk
one thread said extension_custom.conf brycec: (Also, I take back the comments about hackish/cludge. Thought you were using FreePBX) mnathani: or something similar brycec: Yeah, you're on a forum for FreePBX ;)
mnathani: short answer is that it's 99% going to be extensions.conf mnathani: ok, thats a start brycec: (that 1% is if you're using something else to manage it, or you've broken things out a bit yourself.)
mnathani: The more specific answer is "whichever context your UA's reside within. or the rest of your dialing rules"
Which, if you're totally stock vanilla, is probably... -: brycec looks it up so as not to confuse you mnathani: I have some config copied from voip.ms
so I think I know which context to use
just not sure of the order and it says goto as well brycec: heh
Well keep in mind the exact contexts used in that snippet are FreePBX specific. I don't think you'll have them in vanilla.
So... your best bet is to understand what that does, and reimplement it. mnathani: right brycec: (Heh finally looked at the sample conf and there isn't technically a default/internal context)
exten => _+.,1,Dial(SIP/011${EXTEN:1}@voipms)
mnathani: ^ the basic syntax/idea taht you're looking for
Matches numbers starting with +, strips off the + and prefixes the whole thing with 011 before handing it off to a peer named "voipms" mnathani: cool, let me try that brycec: Oh for the love of a duck! Tue Feb 18 20:59:20 2014 - WARNING Master said 413 Request Entity Too Large
looks like smokeping is trying to upload its 24MB backlog staticsafe: brycec: need to increase client_max_body_size in your nginx config brycec: yep staticsafe: so 30M ought to do it brycec: (temporarily)
Sweet, we're live again! And we've tested whether or not smokeping will push historical data
The fact that it does is very, very cool with me.
So now I just have the short outage from when I tried to restart smokeping for it to "see" the upgraded Perl. staticsafe: hm up_the_irons should add a Finnix ISO to the ISO list brycec: hm staticsafe should email up_the_irons the URL to a Finnix ISO :p staticsafe: sure :P mercutio: what's finnix staticsafe: http://www.finnix.org/ mercutio: oh a rescue OS mnathani: brycec: works great.
