Mmmm man look at that green line getting longer. woo up_the_irons: Is your centos mirror in sync? I've been trying a yum update for a few days now and it keeps failing. as soon as I try a mirror in the "mirrorlist" it works. at a mininum, it looks like the "updates" repo, is out of sync Actuallly, come to think of it.. I had the same issue a few weeks ago, but didn't have the time to resolve it. so, I'd guess it's been out of sync for a few weeks. yeah pledgie.com which is hosted on arp is barely online it appears. has anyone received any updates on this yet? https://smokeping.cobryce.com/?displaymode=n;start=2014-01-07%2004:40;end=2014-01-07%2007:40;target=ARP.ThisGW.ThisGW6 It looks like that second hump coincides with pledgie's issues, but that's only on ipv6; ipv4 has been clear and smooth the whole time. brycec: thx for that heh, my pleasure :p (you, and everyone else, is free to watch/use my smokeping :)) heh thx huh. still screwy? Nope, been very smooth and clean the last 12 hours or so just those couple of hiccups So nice to see the green https://smokeping.cobryce.com/?displaymode=n;start=2014-01-06%2012:00;end=2014-01-07%2012:00;target=ARP.ThisGW.ThisGW6 ah that screenshot you linked - are you using pfsense? or was that from your smokeping as well? rrd color scheme just looked like pfsense That screenshot is pfSense, yes. guess i should clean up my office geez, this freenode server is a mess - 45 seconds of lag m0unds: asimov.freenode.net seems to be decent from arp's network i had a good run on morgan, but it's been really unstable since ddos funtiem yeah, that's what i was using before had like 30+ days up on that server if i get dropped again, i'll change over to asimov (i'm just using irc.freenode.com and forcing ipv6) looks like that one's in dfw yeah, i ran traceroutes to the US servers listed on the freenode website and that seemed to be the best of the ones that were actually up and stupid /links doesn't work on freenode, so you have to trust their outdated site hahaha If anyone needs more smokepings, this is one located in London and pinging my Arp VPS, for both v4 and v6 http://smokeping.z.gg/?target=arp so are arp's servers being DDOS'd? Not currently as far as I know. If so I'd expect to see some variation or packet loss https://smokeping.cobryce.com/?target=ARP.ARPWebsite.ARPWebsite4 https://smokeping.cobryce.com/?target=ARP.ARPWebsite.ARPWebsite6 (ignoring the TWC connection because, well, TWC just sucks) got it jpalmer: hmm.. not sure if the mirror is in sync up_the_irons: any chance you could shed some light one what's happened and been done to resolve it? If it's complicated/you're busy, I understand. i'm gonna kick the mirror process brycec: there was a vps that whenever the customer brought it up, would be ddos'ing like crazy; i had to shut it down manually a few times. customer got his files off and has requested a wipe of the server. it got hacked. CaZe: nice! let me know how you like it aeropresses are neat i like the inverted method a lot polar vortex is a term that came from an awful movie Doesn't that clog the filter? nah- insert plunger to #4, heat whatever vol of water you're gonna use, drop coffee into the chamber from what would normally be the bottom, moisten the filter and place it in the holder, add water, stir, let stand a short while, screw filter on, flip onto cup, press If you invert the aeropress, doesn't that just make it a french press with a paper filter? sorta, but no grit and you can use finer grinds i think extraction is better but no filter clogging as far as i've seen, using the paper filters or a mesh screen up_the_irons: glad it was not my server ;-) up_the_irons: sounds like something that would happen to me Wow that didn't take long for Google to start indexing my Smokeping 66.249.75.191 smokeping.cobryce.com:443 - [07/Jan/2014:18:38:58 -0800] "GET /?target=Internet.FreeNode.moorcock4 HTTP/1.1" 200 2065 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html)" they're fast No doubt. The curious thing is that the URLs they're hitting aren't in the IRC logs google knows all m0unds: you should press the air out before flipping over in my experience damnit you just reminded me I am all out of coffee :[ ooo, coffee talk any German speakers here btw? Kaffee Diskussion w00t ant: ich lerne Deutsch up_the_irons: i'm following you on duolingo ;) ant: lol ant: welches sind Sie??? up_the_irons: teuchert so hard to keep nick's / names / other screen names, straight ant: oh that's you, cool! up_the_irons: yeah. unfortunately i signed up too late, so ant was already taken ah ant: i had you beat at one time... ok now IT'S ON ant: how did you find me? guess the username? ;) up_the_irons: as i only follow 2 people, whenever someone beats me, i HAVE to get my postion back. so have fun ;) up_the_irons: randalschwartz told me to follow him+you when i mentioned that i signed up hahaha ant: ah ok up_the_irons: actually i learned about duolingo here when someone mentioned it a few months ago ant: how's the spanish going? up_the_irons: slowly. but thanks to duolingo i do at least on lection every day up_the_irons: might me more when i get that "up_the_irons just passed you. are you gonna do something about that?" message again ;) yeah, same mit mein Deutsch slowly but surely i'm on a 105 day streak :) 107 here (did a lesson every day since i signed up ;) nice we left RandalSchwartz in the dust what do you think about Du/Sie btw? that must be really crazy for native english speakers i find declension even crazier but yeah, Du/Sie is definitely a new animal.. we have nothing like it oh. yeah, right. that's one of the reasons why i'm sometimes glad to be be a native german speaker learing english instead the other way round the only other time i experienced it is with Spanish in school, where we also learned formal / informal. yeah, there are quite some similaries between german and spanish (good for me :) it is hard to know when to use formal vs. informal. Since I live in SoCal, Spanish is all around us, yet I never hear anyone use formal. but yeah, declension is NUTS. no way to memorize that stuff.. i get it wrong on duolingo a lot. just have to get used to it. as a native english speaker, it is hard to reason out why one would need der/die/das/den/dem/des when it english it is all simply "the" ;) i know someone who's been living in germany for 40+ years, speaks german really good and still has trouble with that (he's from the us) wikipedia says it makes the meaning clearer (mehr klar?) despite word order. but i still don't buy it ;) lol, oh man, 40 years and still doesn't get it right? then there is no hope... ;) clearer -> klarer ("mehr klar" would be bad style) ah ok, tnx i have to relocate now (lecture in five mins) cya cool, nice chattin' re (from the lecture) ;)
