I supposed nested VM would work on >= kvr27, but performance may be questionable. we also haven't tested it, so ymmv... up_the_irons: what raid controller is used for the arp metal boxes? The additional $ one. I assume it's none by default. Man. Arpnetworks rules. I want a v6 address to troubleshoot a customer issue. Go to look at how to request one and I alredy have one. 10 minutes later I'm happily producing v6 traffi. heh <<== happy arp customer for 4 or 5 years now Happy customer since >> Welcome to ARP Networks, Inc. VPS Services | Sat, Feb 5, 2011 Oct 1, 2012 here. I'm relatively new. up 915 days , a while I guess :D @date 915 days ago 2 years, 26 weeks, 3 days, 1 hour, 0 seconds ago. [Interpreted date: Thu, 16 Jun 2011 11:25:01 -0700] So, at least since then hehe yes looks like I started 1/2/2010 so nearly 4 years (minus a few weeks) How does one go about paying Arpnetworks using BTC? mike-burns: Email suport@ *support There's no automated means (yet) Ah OK. mike-burns: you'll get a coinbase invoice basically, then pay. for clarification the BTC price is set at invoice generation time based on the equivalent USD. Cool, that makes sense. Coinbase has good merchant tools. I feel like "charging for something in a price measured in BTC but that has to reflect a USD price" is a growing pain that the various merchant tools (CB, BitPay, etc.) need to figure out now. basically if one always treats BTC as a foreign currency, and pay based on USD values, yes. who says CB hasn't? up_the_irons said on the BTC discussion last month that for arpnetworks sake he refuses to do anything that can't ultimately be fully automated. I presume that CB does this automated or can be done automated via querying an api before generating the invoice or something. *shrug* Oh sure, maybe it's already done well. Haven't actually tried it from the merchant side. It's hard to have a fully BTC supply chain right now, which means something has to be treated as a foreign currency at some point. things like gyft.com and egifter.com permitting purchase of USD giftcards using BTC presents their own calculation of current BTC prices. I think we're getting there. a personal disappointment is that independent of BTC trends .. walmart removed their gift cards from 3rd party services therefore I cannot purchase them directly via BTC from the aforementioned giftcard sites More and more consumer-facing stuff is in BTC every day. We have a BTC food truck and BTC ATM in my city now, for example. nice btc atm, really? m0unds: "It's, uh, kinda a reverse ATM, isn't it?", says the guy who runs it. hahaha funny http://bit.ly/1kTgguh - a little something about it, if you're willing to use Google Translator. http://bit.ly/1kTgguh -> http://www.metro.se/nyheter/sveriges-forsta-bitcoin-automat-har-oppnat/EVHmli!WasGPVKKfFbCA/ interesting josephb: the 3ware 9650se-4lpml i'm not up to date on all of the latest best practices of securing/running a fbsd server. anyone here *really* qualified with admining freebsd servers? (general purpose) would be cool to hire someone from out of here to manage boxes from arpnetworks :) i don't have a lot of cash as i'm boot strapping my projects myself, but i'll know exactly what i want and make it easy for whoever admins i'll pay a fair rate, so maybe i shouldn't even mention that, but rather mention i'd only need ~ 4 hours a month of work i've always thought it'd be cool to get a trusted small group of people together to do help with admin stuff for people but not necessarily actually maintain/run but help when get stuck etc that said i don't haev much experience with freebsd
