it seems daddy fell asleep at the keyboard m0unds: hazardous: yeah, that was mtr
hazardous: mtr just looks nice when you insert it into pastebin
sometimes can get a little more info about a packet from a->b using mtr than traceroute, but not always staticsafe: mtr > traceroute m0unds: i've also seen mtr misused a lot (tends to be by people who don't know how networks work) and they get huffy when they see packet loss on a hop along their route, despite having 0% loss at the destination staticsafe: oh yea
common issue m0unds: yeah, mostly gamers :)
yep
used to see it all the time when i ran servers
OMGZ THER IZ LOSS HEER staticsafe: heh
there is good presentation about that from NANOG m0unds: yeah? staticsafe: http://www.nanog.org/meetings/nanog47/presentations/Sunday/RAS_Traceroute_N47_Sun.pdf m0unds: hahah, the mark of satan
definitely gonna bookmark this, thanks staticsafe: np ***: Alistair has quit IRC () nesta: up_the_irons: you around? ***: m0unds__ has joined #arpnetworks

soup.
wow, -25 to -30F tonight in areas above 7500ft ***: r0ni has joined #arpnetworks CaZe: Looks like the drum of a coffee roaster. m0unds: that's what it is
but use soup to clean it
engrish
gene cafe roaster, made in s korea CaZe: Ah.
I just use a brownie oven. m0unds: i was using a stovetop popper, but ambient temps here wreck my ability to roast anywhere in the winter
stove hood doesn't exhaust outdoors
so i got a gene and i'm gonna use some dryer duct to exhaust outside CaZe: I roast outside year round, even in freezing temps. m0unds: i use open flame and it's hard to regulate temperature of something sitting on a burner when it's 5F outside
5-15F
even using a 10000btu side burner, i was having trouble hitting higher than 330F
inside, i can do it, but smoke CaZe: I've removed the internal thermostat of the brownie maker, and connected it to a dimmer module. m0unds: cool
how do you agitate? CaZe: And I keep a candy thermometer in there.
I shake it. m0unds: ah
at any rate, excited to use it tomorrow once i rig up the exhaust CaZe: Cool. ***: CaZe has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection)

pushp0p_ has joined #arpnetworks pushp0p_: hey guys how do i set up reverse dns m0unds: on the arp panel
main menu > reverse dns pushp0p_: hmm
it says bad content
name not within ip range
weird m0unds: use just the last octet
if it's 1.2.3.4 use just 4
in the top box
it's kinda unintuitive
when you type it, you can see the record it's gonna build below pushp0p_: ok cool man ***: pushp0p_ has quit IRC (Quit: heh)
