up_the_irons: Thanks for completing my order. IP section still says free / monthly - should be $5 mnathani: no problem; i actually fixed that already. it's $27 for the 6 month period, so you'll see a separate invoice for that (just this time) The new Thinkpad keyboards feel just like the old ones. mike-burns: but the chicklet style is super annoying It looks weird, but I haven't noticed a difference in feel. I switched between a T61, T420s, and X1 regularly, and I also have the external Thinkpad USB keyboard. They all feel the same to me. Same loudness, same reaction feel. Like yo'mamma. Zing! my buddy got a new model (w-series) and the keyboard felt a lot different than the 06-era one i use at work old thinkpad had some tactility to it, new one feels like a cheap scissor action kb from any regular laptop that isn't to say they're bad, just not the same as they were. we ended up getting an hp elitebook in lieu of another thinkpad for an extra tech notebook, that's part of why yeah I think my next laptop isn't gonna be a thinkpad :( y <3 my lenovo thinkpad i've got a t500 at the moment i'm just not sure what I'd upgrade to that would feel the same I don't fully understand their numbering scheme. they dont either. w-series are like workstation replacements or something we have a couple of those, both have discrete graphics and stuff they used to use T/X/W but now they seem to like "ideapad" and "yoga" as product lines alongside the regular T/X/W ... Plus there's a T440 selling alongside a T430. the elitebook we got is pretty nice - i7 quad core, 8gb ram, quadro gpu I really liked my X1 Carbon. magnesium chassis, but it's still kinda heavy i couldn't find one locally to check out or i mighta gotten one instead of my macbook http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/yoga/yoga-2-pro/ the yoga 2 pro looks kinda cool huh. but I think i may just go macbook :/ interesting 3200x1800 display yeah, that's wacky can't buy it in my country easily though toshiba had a high end ultrabook type thing come out earlier this year, looked nice price sucked though http://www.toshiba.com/us/kirabook?src=MAKP&cm_mmc=TAI-_-Home-_-TopNav-_-Kira anyone got nexus5s yet? nosir, not an android user /kick m0unds haha http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/10/googles-iron-grip-on-android-controlling-open-source-by-any-means-necessary/ Ars Technica: "Google’s iron grip on Android: Controlling open source by any means necessary" I mean, if you want an open source phone, iOS and Android are not your options. but people were using aosp because of the availability of content on the play store couple with open source underpinnings coupled* m0unds: out of interest, what phone do ya rock? lumia 920 http://www.woot.com/offers/ulti-mate-garage-pro-12-piece-storage-kit make your garage look like an apple store, haha Or an Ikea. hahaha, yeah hmmm ThinkPad T440p 20AN: 14.0" (355mm) FHD (1920x1080) color, 1920x1080 in 14" is crasy *crazy 700:1 contrast ratio, that's the highest cr on any ThinkPad i've seen :o wtf T540: 15.5" (394mm) 3K (2880x1620) color, anti-glare, LED backlight, 350 nits, 16:9 aspect ratio, 1000:1 contrast ratio, IPS my gawd i have a T520 1000:1 ! i used to have a T520 at one place i worked was pretty nice trust my workplace to buy the cheapest/nastiest thinkpags available :/ T440s i think. batt doesnt even last 1 hour, crap intel graphics, pretty sure they grind to a halt when people fireup win7+office2010 heh *thinkpads i am enjoying the hell out of killer instinct, hahaha
