i've never had much luck finding a stable node on freenode
had connectivity issues this morning and yesterday..didn't use freenode for years following their incessant DDoS issues back in like 06 or 07
i can say that your experience is not typical
because i don't have any issues
well, based on just you not having problems i wouldn't say that's enough to say my experience is atypical :P
(also, i know lots of others who regularly have issues, especially w/ipv6 hosts dropping off the network w/stability messages, etc)
the scandinavian ones seem to have the fewest bouts of connectivity issues though, so i try to stick to one of them
it automatically reconnects for me
i don't really notice that much
i just see a page full of reconnects sometimes
or server messages saying going down for reboot
actually it's usually just ping timeout :/
