anisfarhana: Yes LT it is ipcop!
LT: Btw i am still using ipcop v1.4.21 , and running two ipcop for version 2.x LT: definitely worth upgrading the 1.4... anisfarhana: Yes our mail firewall at this office still running 1.9.x though.
:/
LT: I need clean install to upgrade to 2.x
Hard to upgrade since Equate help me lots on ipcop hacking to match with our current networking design.

m0n0wall is surprisingly still around, I believe
<3 pfSense m0unds: pfsense was pretty good, haven't used it in years though
used m0n0wall for a long time
i use juniper hardware at home now though brycec: I used m0n0wall first... But wanted more (notably, openvpn), and found pfSense and hooray! pfSense has made some pretty big strides over the years. It's fantastic. m0unds: yeah, that was the same reason i stopped using m0n0 back in the day
used mikrotik devices for a couple years, encountered a string of glitchy/unreliable hardware so i gave up on that and just got an SRX mkb: anyone know why I cannot keep a TCP connection up for more than about a week? It's not a problem, as I only have two long-running TCPs which aren't devistated by having to reset, but I just cannot think of a reason for it to happen brycec: Can't say as I've noticed the behaviour... But if I had to guess, I would blame transit (either being sketchy/unreliable, or carrying some policy to tear down long connections). Unfortunately, there are many, many players and variables in play.
(blaming transit in part because that's !ARP, and because the bulk of the variables lie outside ARP)
I once had a datacenter ISP that killed connections lasting over 6 hours... They were hosting my client, a streaming media site. That was annoying... m0unds: oof mkb: right.
that makes sense, since I can't imagine packet loss taking me down for 240 seconds or whatever Freenode's ping timeout is ***: LT has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) brycec: mkb: are you basing the "no long connections" on your connection to FreeNode alone? Or do you see it with other sites/connections? If it's just FreeNode, then I would hazard a guess that you're connecting over ipv6, and ARP's ipv6 transit is less than perfect :(. Or you could just blame FreeNode, which is notoriously bad when it comes to connections, reliability, etc. stevenc: i have long connection problems all the time
with arp
its a huge annoyance qbit: up_the_irons: did that redis store thing ever go anywhere? ***: jpalmer has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 268 seconds)
