Yes LT it is ipcop! LT: Btw i am still using ipcop v1.4.21 , and running two ipcop for version 2.x definitely worth upgrading the 1.4... Yes our mail firewall at this office still running 1.9.x though. :/ LT: I need clean install to upgrade to 2.x Hard to upgrade since Equate help me lots on ipcop hacking to match with our current networking design. LT: 17:43:38 up 736 days, 6:56, 0 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00 , this is my 1.4 :D had no idea ipcop was still around... ^ m0n0wall is surprisingly still around, I believe <3 pfSense pfsense was pretty good, haven't used it in years though used m0n0wall for a long time i use juniper hardware at home now though I used m0n0wall first... But wanted more (notably, openvpn), and found pfSense and hooray! pfSense has made some pretty big strides over the years. It's fantastic. yeah, that was the same reason i stopped using m0n0 back in the day used mikrotik devices for a couple years, encountered a string of glitchy/unreliable hardware so i gave up on that and just got an SRX anyone know why I cannot keep a TCP connection up for more than about a week? It's not a problem, as I only have two long-running TCPs which aren't devistated by having to reset, but I just cannot think of a reason for it to happen Can't say as I've noticed the behaviour... But if I had to guess, I would blame transit (either being sketchy/unreliable, or carrying some policy to tear down long connections). Unfortunately, there are many, many players and variables in play. (blaming transit in part because that's !ARP, and because the bulk of the variables lie outside ARP) I once had a datacenter ISP that killed connections lasting over 6 hours... They were hosting my client, a streaming media site. That was annoying... oof right. that makes sense, since I can't imagine packet loss taking me down for 240 seconds or whatever Freenode's ping timeout is mkb: are you basing the "no long connections" on your connection to FreeNode alone? Or do you see it with other sites/connections? If it's just FreeNode, then I would hazard a guess that you're connecting over ipv6, and ARP's ipv6 transit is less than perfect :(. Or you could just blame FreeNode, which is notoriously bad when it comes to connections, reliability, etc. i have long connection problems all the time with arp its a huge annoyance up_the_irons: did that redis store thing ever go anywhere? Found out we're having a little boy today :D Sounds delicious! <.< >.> :| brycec wants to eat my son I am going to screenshot this and put it on his wall so he knows to avoid the internets. phlux: I didn't say that. I suggested that you were going to eat a boy [for supper] I stand corrected. "We're having lamb" "We're having chicken" "We're having a little boy" You can see my confusion. It was confusing indeed. phlux: congrats thanks Existing customer cannot get ram upgrading? I guess not then :( perhaps give him longer than three minutes to reply he's great about reading scrollback, so fear not Worth to wait then :D Hopefully today is my lucky day :D anisfarhana: yes existing customers may order upgrades. anisfarhana: See the bottom of the page, "VPS Power Ups" http://arpnetworks.com/vps BryceBot: What i mean is promo. (And relevant http://support.arpnetworks.com/kb/vps/how-do-i-upgrade-or-downgrade-my-vps) anisfarhana: Are you asking if you can get a free ram upgrade? Remember that I am not an employee and my opinions don't matter. I have no idea what your chances are. Ah sorry i forgot about it. Well I mean there's 99% chance someone will reply :P That is for sure, i can say 100% somebody will reply it :P qbit: no, it did not stevenc: you never gave me any information to diagnose your problem; you also reference a smokeping graph that isn't even our network (or at least the title doesn't reflect it) and when I ask for the destination network that smokeping uses for the graph, i get nothing. please help us help you or stop complaining. phlux: LOL anisfarhana: "For New Orders and Upgrades"; if you want to upgrade your plan, you'll get the promo pricing / resources. LOL :D k qbit: why, you want one? :) qbit: i still like the idea, i just don't know how much demand there is and lately i've been developing some new tools (and some even that i can put on my github) that can help with creation of a service like that up_the_irons has a github? oooh :) wut of course :) up_the_irons: nice :D little bit of curiosity in it my github account is so old, i can't even change my password b/c they don't allow "_" (underscores) in logins anymore so it fails a validation [13:24] <@up_the_irons> stevenc: you never gave me any information to diagnose your problem; you also reference a smokeping graph that isn't even our network (or at least the title doesn't reflect it) and when I ask for the destination network that smokeping uses for the graph, i get nothing. please help us help you or stop complaining. i'll just cancel the box why would they do that i am not the only one who has had issues in here stevenc: ok brycec: something I was working on yesterday: https://github.com/up_the_irons/vm-tools LOL about the username/password thing brycec: i know.. feels kinda cool to have an "illegal" login name ;) Pity that it's locked you out of changing your password.
