anisfarhanaYes LT it is ipcop!
LT: Btw i am still using ipcop v1.4.21 , and running two ipcop for version 2.x
[02:23]
LTdefinitely worth upgrading the 1.4... [02:29]
.... (idle for 16mn)
anisfarhanaYes our mail firewall at this office still running 1.9.x though.
:/
LT: I need clean install to upgrade to 2.x
Hard to upgrade since Equate help me lots on ipcop hacking to match with our current networking design.
[02:45]
LT: 17:43:38 up 736 days, 6:56, 0 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00 , this is my 1.4 :D [02:54]

m0undshad no idea ipcop was still around... [07:59]
brycec^
m0n0wall is surprisingly still around, I believe
<3 pfSense
[08:06]
m0undspfsense was pretty good, haven't used it in years though
used m0n0wall for a long time
i use juniper hardware at home now though
[08:07]
brycecI used m0n0wall first... But wanted more (notably, openvpn), and found pfSense and hooray! pfSense has made some pretty big strides over the years. It's fantastic. [08:08]
m0undsyeah, that was the same reason i stopped using m0n0 back in the day
used mikrotik devices for a couple years, encountered a string of glitchy/unreliable hardware so i gave up on that and just got an SRX
[08:08]
mkbanyone know why I cannot keep a TCP connection up for more than about a week? It's not a problem, as I only have two long-running TCPs which aren't devistated by having to reset, but I just cannot think of a reason for it to happen [08:13]
brycecCan't say as I've noticed the behaviour... But if I had to guess, I would blame transit (either being sketchy/unreliable, or carrying some policy to tear down long connections). Unfortunately, there are many, many players and variables in play.
(blaming transit in part because that's !ARP, and because the bulk of the variables lie outside ARP)
I once had a datacenter ISP that killed connections lasting over 6 hours... They were hosting my client, a streaming media site. That was annoying...
[08:22]
m0undsoof [08:26]
mkbright.
that makes sense, since I can't imagine packet loss taking me down for 240 seconds or whatever Freenode's ping timeout is
[08:26]
....... (idle for 31mn)
***LT has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) [08:57]
........ (idle for 35mn)
brycecmkb: are you basing the "no long connections" on your connection to FreeNode alone? Or do you see it with other sites/connections? If it's just FreeNode, then I would hazard a guess that you're connecting over ipv6, and ARP's ipv6 transit is less than perfect :(. Or you could just blame FreeNode, which is notoriously bad when it comes to connections, reliability, etc. [09:32]
stevenci have long connection problems all the time
with arp
its a huge annoyance

[10:54]
brycecphlux: I didn't say that. I suggested that you were going to eat a boy [for supper] [10:55]
***ThalinVien has joined #arpnetworks [10:55]
phluxI stand corrected. [10:55]
brycec"We're having lamb" "We're having chicken" "We're having a little boy"
You can see my confusion.

anisfarhana: Are you asking if you can get a free ram upgrade?
[12:21]
anisfarhanaFor Medium ($15) currently its 768MB, i also paid for $15 but ram only 512MB [12:22]
brycecSounds like something to email support@arpnetworks.com about and wait up to 24 hours for an answer :) [12:23]

stevenc: you never gave me any information to diagnose your problem; you also reference a smokeping graph that isn't even our network (or at least the title doesn't reflect it) and when I ask for the destination network that smokeping uses for the graph, i get nothing. please help us help you or stop complaining.
phlux: LOL
anisfarhana: "For New Orders and Upgrades"; if you want to upgrade your plan, you'll get the promo pricing / resources.

[13:32]
up_the_ironsqbit: why, you want one? :)
qbit: i still like the idea, i just don't know how much demand there is
and lately i've been developing some new tools (and some even that i can put on my github) that can help with creation of a service like that
[13:33]
brycecup_the_irons has a github? oooh :) [13:40]
up_the_ironswut
of course
:)
[13:42]
qbitup_the_irons: nice :D little bit of curiosity in it [13:43]
up_the_ironsmy github account is so old, i can't even change my password b/c they don't allow "_" (underscores) in logins anymore
so it fails a validation
