brycec: It gets added/updated when Chrome is installed too
(technically, via a cron job)
up_the_irons: ah cool, tnxQ
*tnx
brycec: Here's the full file including the apt-key http://sprunge.us/WPZh
up_the_irons: sweet, was just about to ask about the key :)
brycec: (that file gets shoved into cron.daily)
heh
up_the_irons: got the latest firefox too (at least for lucid, which is FF 20)
man i miss firefox
seems a bit faster too
(than previous release that is)

anisfarhana: This LT is famous in freenode.
I think he in #windows before?
Or probably not.
LT: blergh, definitely not #windows
anisfarhana: Sorry my bad.
-: anisfarhana still on DDR1
anisfarhana: You helped me lots before..
And you very cold + angry person too.
LT: beats me, I only remember seeing you here...
anisfarhana: Probably on another IRCD
undernet?efnet? dalnet?
LT: maybe a different person... I used to be on efnet, but must be 15 years ago now
anisfarhana: Cannot be.
You in OS channel before.
LT: ?
-: mike-burns watches
LT yawns
CaZe: I thought you two were gonna fight.
LT: I think I worked out it was #ipcop not #windows... but it must have been a long time ago, my memory aint that great
brycec: up_the_irons: Whoa, you're still running lucid? That's getting pretty long in the tooth, especially for a desktop. Why not a more recent release? Precise (12.04) is pretty defacto these days.
tooth: if it ain't broke....
brycec: Except he's having problems running Chrome, so technically it is broke :P

the default ubuntu install is getting worse and worse for it's default desktop environment
fortunately you don't have to use their default desktop environment

up_the_irons: brycec: what tooth said
brycec: i don't like the way ubuntu is going for the desktop; also, my setup is so modded out that i fear a dist upgrade and all the crap i'm going to have to fix again
brycec: lol
nesta: up_the_irons: do you use Ubuntu for desktop?
up_the_irons: nesta: yes
although, the upgrade *to* lucid wasn't _too_ bad ; still had to fix shit with trackpoint scrolling
tooth: this is why I like LTS
it's supported for a long enough time I don't have to worry about major updates in a count of months
brycec: I'm not a fan of Ubuntu either... which is why I don't use it :P
I am a fan of bleeding edge, so I run Arch. Not ideal for production "set it and leave it" but works fine as a desktop. Every once in awhile there's a hiccup, but normally upgrades go smoothly. (I even run it at work where I need to have a stable workstation)
tooth: yeah. this is my work workstation. I don't really care for futzing about with bleeding edge. I just need email and a decent terminal really.
mercutio: things haven't really changed that much
i've found that using new kernel with old distro works fine
