Is there something I need to enable on my VM? ***: himuraken has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) ant: mnathani: yes. e.g. in linux you need to need to enable a getty on ttyS0 in /etc/inittab mnathani: ant: would that result in a simulated keyboard and screen connected to that tty when I connect via ssh to the serial port? ant: mnathani: more like a serial terminal connected to the port mnathani: ant: I am having trouble defining what a "serial terminal" is
Is it kind of like the old days where people would hook up terminals to a mainframe? ant: mnathani: yes mnathani: and the ssh <> serial takes care of input redirection? ant: what do you mean by "input redirection"
? mnathani: characters entered in on the ssh connection going over to the serial terminal ant: yeah mnathani: and back the other way to show up in my session ant: yeah mnathani: ok, cool. I have to try this sometime soon
