oh no i don't email, i'm lazy just fleshing out some options atm hah anyone using Packer (http://www.packer.io/) or Deis (http://deis.io/) ? packer is pretty nice THat we are using it to create vms for our developers I've been looking at cobbler. anyone else seeing some packet loss to arp? seems to be happening from two distinct locations for me yes really annoyed by it to :-/ i moved to arp to get away from these issues and its happened 3 times this week okay, thanks. just wanted to verify it wasn't just my vps. its happening on a dedi, so its network wide PL @ mzima hop yeah, i'm seeing roughly 50% loss from two other networks seems to be sorted out now The IntarWebs are falling apart! That's it, I'm going back to carrier pigeon. Got an alert at 9:32AM PST, but it cleared up by itself stevenc: when were the other times? Just noticed the alert I received was for a separate (isolated) circuit from GTT. So, GTT was having problems. If you reached us through NTT or any peer, you probably would not have noticed any PL. up_the_irons: Is all ipv6 still through HE? brycec: for transit, yeah. but i have about 50% peer routes now. hmm k. (I was seeing issues with my ssh earlier around 9:30) (but was too busy putting out Chunkhost-related fires to check it out) that sounds like the GTT problem i noticed (around same time) (fuck I'm getting more and more pissed with Chunkhost... around 5am my load shot over 120 before munin crapped out... Left a whole bunch of stuff crashed) o_o that sounds terrible yeah, that correlates with what i was seeing. ~12:37 EDT. staticsafe: it is. It really is. only if arp promises not to shoot your load over 120 feet or whatever up_the_irons: You promise that, right? :P absolutely :) up_the_irons: That matches what I saw. I come in via NTT from here and didn't see any packet loss plett: roger that, tnx for the confirmation RandalSchwartz: I am trying tmux for the first time. So far so good. Could you give me a basic idea of how I could improve the experience using scripting? ie: what kinds of things should I be looking to do? I've just been using it the same as I used screen, just attaching and detaching 99% ctl-b c and ctl-b n I am hoping to try out fancy panes / splitting windows then attaching Also never tried a shared screen or tmux session before https://learn.thoughtbot.com/tmux/articles - we've written a surprising amount on tmux. Some of it might be interesting. if you're on a mac - iterm and tmux is a nice combo (understatement, honestly). It can handle stuff like buffer scrolling, resuming sessions, copy pasting and a lot of other stuff pretty seamlessly.
