Just over a year ago, I decided to give FF another shot as my full-time browser. I use it here and there for testing things (and easy proxy config in Linux), and it was indeed quite fast. up_the_irons: it can spawn an editor somehow http://w3m.sourceforge.net/FAQ if it is a textarea, an editor is spawned, But I neded up back in Chrome's... electrons? I missed too many Chrome-isms. I have a feeling Chrome doesn't allow its renderer to be hijacked by a plugin, and hence no textarea-vimming milki: sweet http://superuser.com/questions/261689/its-all-text-for-chrome "the Chrome(ium) security model doesn't allow for extensions spawning processes we can't just exec() the editor process" if one is browser shopping there's always xombrero where by default control-i opens text input in an editor of your choice (you have to choose before starting the browser, but hey) Ah, previously xxxterm. indeed
