brycec: or, a lot like OpenVZ containers for FreeBSD
or, a lot like a chroot works, but with more magic milki: lol backups
i should get me some of those... ***: BryceBot has quit IRC (Quit: Standby for reinitialization...)

never heard of it before, just tried it the first time RandalSchwartz: ahh... yeah. I'm broadening my spanish with it
had been using rosetta stone, but studies show this is more effective per hour
also big difference in price :) ant: i'm just at spanish lesson 2 :) RandalSchwartz: add me as a buddy "RandalSchwartz"
and "up_the_irons" :)
I really like the practice part... it brings up things you haven't seen in a while
there's practice on each specific lesson, but also practice on "everything so far"
I do that first each time I start a lesson mike-burns: Sadly I'm focused on learning an unpopular language. No Duolingo support for Swedish. RandalSchwartz: they seem to be adding a language every few months though
not sure what their profit model is yet
they were initially funded to provide news translated to all languages, but they gave up that part of the interaction ant: hm..searching the add buddy function in the android app RandalSchwartz: might need to be on the website ant: found it mike-burns: I'm actually building an app in the same space for a client right now, and my understanding of the people interested in language learning is: what's a profit model? RandalSchwartz: thre are things you can do only on the website
oh ok! ***: HansEirik has joined #arpnetworks

nevermind, just my connection being lagged (I see in the bot's logs that it replied immediately) toddf: i saw <= 1s response time also -: toddf wonders if there is such a thing as subsecond time format in irssi brycec: lol doesn't seem useful, but I wouldn't be surprised toddf: 093750 < brycec> @last up_the_irons
093750 < BryceBot> brycec, I last saw... ant: hahaha. i had to tweak my irssi config to have it display seconds. by default it just displays minutes. toddf: was that 1.9s or 0.1s interval?
I tweaked mine to show %H%M in the bar but %H%M%S in the scrolling display and the log brycec: 1.9s? Or just .9s?
50.0 + 1.9 = 51.9, you'd see different secodns
All my logs are only 1 second precision, because that's about the best that IRC affords. There is no greater accuracy to be had, realisitically. ant: the %S in the status bar is particular important for me to see if my connection is still alive ;) ***: heavysixer has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)

consider it as better latency granularity
hmm, looks like the log format is in strftime format, which doesn't (to my reading) have anything more granular than a second. a shame. someone feel free to show me otherwise. ***: m0unds has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 260 seconds)
