i think there is both, but i use the text based one
weechat FTW. Plus weechat-android.
weechat-android is really what does it for me.
weechat as it is distributed is ncurses only, but there are ambitions and framework for other frontends
(And weechat-android is an example of such a frontend)
i'm excited to try weechat-android, now that i'm almost on weechat 4.1
