interesting stuff: http://blogs.computerworld.com/encryption/22366/can-nsa-see-through-encrypted-web-pages-maybe-so perfect forward secrecy i'm proud to say our Portal uses it, yet the biggest banks don't well - that was nice. delta changed my first outbound flight on monday to another flight a few hours earlier, and didn't send me email I was just reviewing my departure times and found the change. :( now that's customer service up_the_irons keep up the good work robonerd: tnx :) RandalSchwartz: ouch well - I'm pretty good about reviewing travel, especially international, in an overly obsessive way especially when this is two flights to the UK, followed by two full-day tours, followed by a 10-day cruise lots at risk I use TripIt, Kayak, *and* Tripcase to monitor my flights for changes but since the flight number itself changed, they were useless and delta doesn't allow tripit to go directly to their site anymore. :( used to be that tripit would pull that out so you plan your trips to the day? seems like a tight itinerary lame i like flightaware for tracking arrival/departure stuff for travel only useful the day of travel though, since it tracks based on flight plans w/faa and things 19:27 < GeekOnCoffee> oh no, altavista is shutting down :( 19:37 < randompherret> now you will have to go straight to yahoo for your bing results. awesome i had no idea altavista was still up their translation engine was awesome "back in the day" the search was certainly a step up from webcrawler but... lycos was in Perl! I never really used lycos i didn't either i used excite and altavista webcrawler -> Altavista -> Google, pretty much. bit of metacrawler in there for a bit. i use duckduckgo lots of goodies https://duckduckgo.com/goodies what's altavist? or excite altavista nvm ill just google it heh my buddy was a senior guy at altavista, and when the stock tanked at the end of the dotcom boom, he lost a few million dollars, and committed suicide wow yeah it was pretty devastating... I had just had dinner with him a few weeks earlier sadly - I don't have brain cells left that remember his name. :( holy fuck what a heart breaking situation i'm guessing: was he on the hook to pay taxes for equity he no longer had?
