[10:14] or something [10:14] dunno. looks linux [10:14] it's fbsd 9 [10:14] oh, then you probably need to install the kvm stuff [10:14] googled the errors i got, literally no results [10:15] Hmm. still sounds like a broken install. did it work yesterday? [10:15] it was happily serving sites til sometime around 1-2am this morning [10:15] did you recently install or upgrae something? [10:15] nothing has changed i was asleep [10:15] maybe you got rooted [10:15] maybe i got rooted [10:19] ouch [10:27] turns out no, i wasn't rooted [10:27] That's good... But? [10:27] i have no idea [10:27] How can you be certain you weren't rooted then? [10:28] reloaded off a known-good vm image [10:28] took the old one for analysis/mounting later :v [10:29] Ah, so then the known-good image is throwing the error too? [10:29] no, that worked [10:29] i have no idea why it happened in the first place [10:32] maybe diff to see what files are changed [10:32] install tripwire next time? :) [10:33] maybe [10:34] nothing was changed, binaries md5s seem to match google results [10:34] First thing I'd check - is /lib/libkvm.so.5 in place? [10:34] my webroot matches my staging environment 1:1 according to git [10:34] all files are in place [10:34] the /lib/whatever files are all in place [10:35] ##freebsd tells me i broke linker cache or hit some kind of file descriptor issue if it wasn't a compromise [10:36] Hm yeah could be you ran out of fd's [10:36] Odd, but potentially the cause [10:37] tbh i'm not really a freebsd user, and was really confused when googling the error message turned up absolutely nothing [10:38] I remember when I first came across libkvm and thought "But this is a physical box. Why does it care about kvm [virtualisation]?" [10:39] yeah might have been fds while it was adding up the .so to the new command [10:40] haha brycec [10:40] that was my thought too [10:40] "this can't stand for the kvm i think it is can it" [12:46] *** scottschecter has joined #arpnetworks [13:07] *** Adude has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) [13:16] *** pjs_ is now known as pjs [15:58] *** heavysixer has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer) [15:58] wtf is tripwire [16:00] try http://lmgtfy.com/?q=tripwire [16:44] Short answer: an IDS.
